GENERAL
The pearls used by Amymoné are all freshwater pearls apart from a small selection of articles made up from South Sea pearls. Freshwater pearls come almost exclusively from lakes and river estuaries in the Far East. South Sea pearls, as the name suggests, come from various locations in the South China Sea. Pearls can take several years to grow to maturity, which is one of the reasons why they are such unique and special objects to behold.
SIZING
Pearls are natural objects and, therefore, there can be slight variations between items in regard to size and colour. The pearl size given on the website is that of the maximum length of the pearl. All pieces are hand-graded, however the length of items can vary slightly owing to these natural variations in the size of the pearls. It is important that the customer has carefully measured their neck and/or wrist before ordering. This measurement should be compared with the size given on the website, and a small allowance made for these natural variations.
KNOTTING
Where possible all items have two to three pearls knotted by the clasp for security reasons. Some special pieces are fully knotted.
COLOURS
Some pearl colours are naturally occurring but the 'fashion' colours are created by using special dyes during the production process.
PEARL CARE
Pearls are surprisingly resilient objects but do not like perfume: so do not spray near them! To clean your article, gently wipe it with a damp sponge or cloth. Do not use detergents or other cleaning products as these can cause damage to the pearls.
ALLERGIES
All clasps and earring backs/hooks are Sterling Silver or gold plated Sterling Silver (known as and referred to on this site as 'vermeil'). They are nickel free.
STOCK AVAILABILITY
The pearls used in our products are all hand selected for their exclusivity. This means that supplies of each product line are limited.
